Eat Locally

Belinda Norman started The Little Food Co-op in 2004 with a goal to provide local families with quality produce. Focusing on sharing her passion to eat locally whilst supporting local farmers and providing people with value for money, the Little food Co-op grew to service over 60 families.

Belinda sourced produce working with John Toderello at Katoomba Fruit market, whilst also a collective of local producers, Logan Brae Apples, Fish River Roasters. We also supplied Salt Bush Lamb from Mudgee and Grass Fed Beef from Oberon. Conrad from Fish and Fowl provided a selection of fish. It was so important to Belinda that everyone ate well and was able to afford it too.

Belinda started making pre-prepared dinners to help busy working families, and has introduced the meals into the General Store. We Support Australian, locally produced products, Farmer Brown Eggs, The Little Big Dairy, Strange Love, Sow and Grow Organics, Pulp It Blackheath, Bee Tempted Honey, Jannie Goats Dairy. We now also have an amazing range of natural household cleaning products – Bondi Wash is available at the General Store.

Delicious Food

Merging her food passion with her experience as a Chef using the iconic Australian AGA brand Belinda travelled interstate doing AGA demonstrations as brand ambassador. In 2016 her work with AGA culminating in her dream of opening an AGA concept store was fulfilled, enter – The Blackheath General Store.

Since opening, the store has garnered a loyal base of return customers from Blackheath locals to Sydney and regional visitors who all stop in when in town or passing through for signature favourites like Belinda’s chicken soup, pecorino muffins and homemade scones and jam.

Belinda runs the Blackheath General Store with a dedicated team of locals that care about quality as much as she does, using the same philosophy as the Little Food Co-op ‘eat locally’ the store sources produce from trusted regional suppliers and prides itself on providing delicious food for those with dietary requirements.

A Community Space

“My Concept Store started as a dream over 15 years ago and has now evolved to become Blackheath General Store & Café. Blackheath General Store is a constantly evolving concept, providing a beautiful environment to meet with friends and ground yourself, whilst enjoying the beautiful Blue Mountains”.

Belinda is planning to launch a monthly event program for local artisan and creative and community groups.

Blackheath General Store is a warm community space, a place you can pop in for a coffee and delicious homemade cake or for breakfast or lunch with friends. Belinda’s generous style of hospitality harks back to slower life when meals where an important space for family and friends to commune and ingredients were savoured.

At Blackheath General Store the good things never change, come in and see for yourself, we look forward to meeting you!
